BEARDY RESIGNS

08.12.08
A SAD DAY FOR THE CLUB

Unfortunately, Allan Beard has decided to resign his position as 2nd Team Manager as of Saturday 6th December.

Hopefully Allan can let the Club have a full statement regarding his resignation in the near future. Any statement will be posted here as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we will keep you posted on any committee decisions that are made. So please be patient and we will endeavour to resolve this situation as soon as possible.

Could all players please try and turn up to training on Wednesday. It seems like a perfect time to discuss the options within the club.

Many Thanks

BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE
08.12.08
Despite putting up a terrific battle at Balcombe to earn a 1-1 draw, we are left at the bottom of the league. Jarvis Brook and Franlands Village both managed to gain wins.

We started the game slowly, starting with a new formation. Once we had learned to play this, we began to get back into the game, only being 0-1 down at half-time. Despite us having good chances in the first half.

The second half started with a double substitution, and it began to pay off quite quickly. With Adrian Collins firing in at least 3 shots from range. We started to pressure Balcombe more, once their crowd became agitated and started abusing us. Our players then grew in pure determination not to walk away with another loss. After about 30 mins of the half, Colin Levis managed to break free and cooly slot home the equaliser. Further pressure left us vulnerable at the back, and we conceeded a late penalty. But Ray Levis pulled off a fine save to keep the final score 1-1.

MoM - Ray Levis

LOSS AGAIN AT FOREST ROW

25.11.08
We still cannot pick up that vital win.
This weekend's game against local rivals, Forest Row goes to show that we just can't score goals at the moment. It has never been a problem before.

We came in at half-time drawing 0-0. A very tight game with us just edging the chances. With Kevin Twort striking the post within the first 5 minutes. But constant pressure would not find that goal.

In the 2nd half, we kept up the pressure early on, only to see Forest Row score their first goal from a corner. This is where we faded. They then got a second gola minutes later, and the Hartfield heads went down.

The third goal from Forest Row was imminent, due to our attacking formation trying to find a goal.

We certainly need that win at home to Franklands Village at the weekend.

M.o.M. - Tim Wilson

IT'S JUST NOT HAPPENING
18.11.08
Another loss from the 1st team against a strong Lindfield.
Letting in cheap goals again, which is unlike our defence. Going 3-0 down very early, with a glimmer of hope coming from a goal from Miguel Figueira before the break.
The second half started badly, but the last half hour actually saw us improve the performance.
Finally losing 3-6 with goals from Dean Vatcher and Adrian Collins.
THAT WIN IS BADLY NEEDED!

A FUNNY OLD GAME
08.11.08
Still struggling to get that win.
We came in at half-time 2-0 down. But a true reflection of the first half would have been 4-2 to us. The ball just wouldn't go into the back of the net. The confidence was high though, as we had played well.
The 2nd half was a different matter though. Uckfield showed why they are at the top of the league, and we have a gap to fill. They put another 3 goals past us, with a response of just the one goal from Miguel Figueira.
Injuries and absentees are still a problem for the 1st team, and we need to get back to full strength to start gaining some much needed points.

THE LAST SECONDS!

28.10.08
Oh! The dispair against Forest Row. Conceeding a last second goal to level the local derby 3-3.
After recent poor performances, we managed to get back on the score sheet. With Adrian Collins scoring his first for the 1sts. And Colin Levis getting the other 2 goals.
The defence was solid again with a deputising Duncan Kingston dropping into right back.
But the sheer disbelief in the dying seconds only got us a single point, when three points would have been more than welcome.

A great battle with our local rivals, Forest Row. They are suffering from as many injuries and absentees as us.

UNLUCKY AT MARESFIELD
18.10.08
Another loss in the league. Going down 0-1 to Maresfield. Three losses on the trot, and frustrating.
We did not deserve to win the game, but we feel we did not deserve to lose it either.

DISAPPOINTED AGAIN AT HOME
11.10.08
Another disappointing 0-3 loss at home to East Grinstead Utd. We did have 5 key players away at the weekend, but we should have still put up a better fight.
First half was a close affair, coming off with the score level at 0-0. Julian Farren though, had to come off at half time due to another smack on his bad ribs. The loss of Julian then showed in the 2nd half, with a very poor performance from the rest of the side.
Although, temporary Captain, and Man of the Match, Tim Wilson, managed to keep the defence reasonably solid. Thus keeping it to only 3 goals.
Better performance hoped for this Saturday with an important fixture away to Maresfield.

GREAT WIN AT JARVIS BROOK
02.10.08
A
fter the poor performance against Maresfield the previous week. Hartfield 1st Team managed a much improved level away to Jarvis Brook.
Going 1 goal down early on. Then on the stroke of half-time, Andy Westwood scored a cracking 20 yard volley to take us into the break. The second half was a top display of grit and determination, with goals from Duncan Kingston, Colin Levis and Kevin Twork giving us the 4-3 edge.
The back was safely marshalled by Tim Wilson and Adrian Burton, with Ricky Leslie and David Barham on top form too.
A GREAT FIRST WIN

DISSAPPOINTED AT HOME
22.09.08
The 1st Team crashed to a 0-3 defeat with their first game at home.
The first half, we matched Hassocks, and were only 0-1 down to a lucky goal. We did add pressure in the second half, but Hassocks proved too strong for us. Man of the Match was Tim Wilson, with a solid display at the back.

CRICKET SUCCESS
22.09.08
A great day out on Sunday, with the cricket tri-tournament on The Croft.

A very competitive day with the Cricket Club, MK Airlines and ourselves batting for success. The football club held up very well, with the final scores being a 1-1-1 draw. The winners though, were the Cricket Club (Thank God), with their superior run-rate.

It was noted though, how very few members from the football club actually made it to the day. Lucky we put up a good performance for the club!

CHANGE OF OPPONENT
02.10.08
Please note that the 1st Team game has been changed for this Saturday.
We are now playing Hassocks III. Still 1.30pm KO.

MAN OF THE MATCH
22.09.08
A poor performance by the 1st Team this weekend away to Maresfield.
We will put this one down to a bad day at the office. The previous weeks' performance was ten times better. We must get back to playing passing football again.

Ray Levis was by far our better player by keeping the score against us down. An easy pick for Man of the Match.

A GOOD DRAW
13.09.08
A tough away fixture to start the season against Franklands Village.
A 1-1 draw, with Andy Westwood opening his goal account. A solid performance by the team on a ground that a lot of teams will struggle to get any points.

RAINED OFF
06.09.08
Both teams' fixtures were rained off this weekend. Oooh! What a terrible summer it has been!

QUIZ NIGHT
05.09.08
Hartfield Football Club won the Anchor Inn Quiz Night. It turned out to be a tight fight with the Cricket Club. Managing to win by just 1 point.

So Hartfield Football Club are the current champions.

All winnings were donated back into the pavilion fund-raising campaign.

02.02.008

HE'S A LEGEND!
Hartfield

THE SOLID BOYS
02.02.008
Thin though - but solid against Willingdon.
Jack Pleon bags 2 goals for 2nds in loss at home to Wivelsfield.

THE HARTFIELD ROCKS!
Hartfield

HE SCORES AT LAST
02.02.008
Dean Vatcher finally gets his first goal for the firsts, in a 2-1 victory over Maresfield

COULD HE BE A LEGEND?
